UNDERWATER

All aqua images were photographed underwater while scuba diving at various sites around the world, at depths ranging from 15 to 100 feet. Each begins as a still image of oxygen tank bubbles, captured in motion. Layers of color are then added to create a painted, abstract effect.

The series was originally inspired by outer space—and the visual and emotional parallels it shares with the underwater world. It also draws on the concept of “inner space,” as a metaphor for perception. The addition of color transforms each image, exploring the fleeting nature of emotions and moments—how they can shift dramatically from one second to the next, yet all have their place and meaning.

The longitude and latitude coordinates in the bottom right corner mark the exact dive site where each image was taken.

Half of the profits from each sale will be donated directly to ocean conservation efforts, and a card will be sent with your print letting you know which organization was the recipient of the donation.
